CANON

Role: Project Manager, Production
with: Studio@Gawker | Michael Williams | Futuristic Films
Client: Canon USA

Canon partnered with Studio@Gawker to show readers of Gawker, Jezebel, and Lifehacker what is means to “Be Ready” by unveiling their new Canon Powershot N wifi-enabled point-and-shoot camera.

The Studio@Gawker brought in two cultural trendsetters. . I helped negotiate contracts between fashion blogger Bryanboy and DJ Mia Moretti, up-and-coming NYC fashion icon and half of the DJ/violin duo The Dolls.

The Studio@Gawker’s creative director Mallory McMorrow, wanted to ensure we didn’t create a standard “day-in-the-life” video. In order to achieve this we worked with creative reps Schafler Artists to find Futuristic Films and director Michael Williams. His eye for beauty partnered with his ability to work with talent made him perfect for this project.

We asked both Mia and Byranboy to share with us places in New York City that inspire them. We narrowed each list down to several places and I secured permissions and created each production day’s schedule. In all, I coordinated three days of production, two days with Bryanboy and one day with Mia, from the Upper East Side to Williamsburg. We gave Bryanboy and Mia the Canon Powershot N cameras and they gave us a personal tour of their favorite places in New York City.

In the end we were able to showcase what these powerful cameras can do, with a ton of photos and two stunning videos.
